Strength training at any age: my story and my four pillars
From ballet and horse riding to Biology and NASM: what happens to the body with age and the four pillars behind my training.

My story
Movement has always been part of my life. I started with ballet and horse riding, two disciplines that taught me early on to know my body, to push it and to understand that behind any result there are hours of work. Later I studied Biology and qualified as a personal trainer with NASM in Miami, and I kept training in strength, sports nutrition, yoga and functional training.
What happens to the body with age
From our 30s we start to lose muscle mass progressively, and over the years that process speeds up. We also lose bone density, something women notice especially after menopause. That’s why muscle matters so much: it isn’t just about looks. It’s what lets you move freely, have energy, protect your bones and keep your independence.
What I actually do
No tricks, no shortcuts. There are four pillars:
- Strength: I train with weights, consistently and progressively.
- Consistency: it doesn’t depend on whether I feel like it. It gets done.
- Nutrition: I eat to perform and recover, not to punish myself.
- Rest: without recovery there is no progress.
It sounds simple, and it is. The hard part is keeping it up week after week, year after year. That’s discipline.
It’s never too late to start
It doesn’t matter how old you are today. The body responds to strength training at any age. What matters is starting well, with a plan adapted to you, and not leaving it for later.
I don’t train to stop time. I train so that time finds me strong.
